Mint sets were and are specially packaged by the government for sale to collectors. They contain
uncirculated coins for each denomination issued from each mint. These are normal coins intended for circulation with no special
consideration for quality.
1947 TO 1958 Mint Sets
Mint sets from 1947 to 1958 contain two examples of each coin.they were packaged in cardboard holders
and did not protect the coins from tarnish. These sets are hard to come by and carry a premium price. We do have some
of these in stock at times. The Mint did not produce a mint set for 1950.
